Digital Nautical Chart ( DNC®)

The Digital Nautical Chart (DNC) is produced by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) and is a vector-based digital product containing maritime significant features essential for safe marine navigation. DNC, for areas in which the US is the prime charting authority, is unclassified. All other areas are limited distribution. |

DNC provides global marine navigation information between 84 North latitude and 81 South latitude and supports a variety of Geographic Information System applications. DNC® Regions (Click on a Name for DNC® downloadable files) **Important Announcement**Effective 01 March 2026, as part of the NSGI 1501 Sunset Process, NGA's DNC portfolio will be reduced to only all Coastal and General scale libraries. NGA recommends transitioning to our latest Electronic Navigational Charts (ENC) available via the Maritime Content Dissemination Portal (MCDP): https://mcdp.nga.mil. NGA's sunset of the remaining DNC portfolio will occur on 01 October 2026. |
